The Band
Exodus Reggae Adelaide
Exodus Reggae Adelaide is SA's premier 5-piece roots and culture band, presented by Selah Productions. Five musicians strong, the band brings the full spectrum of conscious roots reggae to stages across Adelaide and South Australia.
The sound is unmistakable — deep bass lines, tight horns, conscious lyrics, and a rhythm section that moves bodies and minds. Drawing from the rich tradition of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Toots & the Maytals, Alpha Blondy, and Gregory Isaacs, Exodus Reggae delivers authentic roots and culture with a fire that's all its own.
“Roots reggae is a spiritual thing. It's about consciousness, about love, about standing up for what's right. That's what Exodus is about.”
Exodus Reggae · Selah Productions
From their home base at The Jade in Adelaide's CBD, the band has built a reputation for electrifying live shows that sell out consistently. BrewBoys Brewery, Brighton Sports Club, Mount Compass Hotel, Murray Delta Juke Joint, and Ashton Oval have all hosted packed Exodus Reggae nights.
The Bob Marley SunSplash Birthday Bash — one of their signature events — sold out completely, bringing Adelaide together in celebration of the King of Reggae. The Fleurieu Easter Reggae Bash took the vibes to the peninsula. Every show is a gathering, a ceremony, a celebration of roots and culture.
Together, the eight members of Exodus Reggae Adelaide continue to grow the movement through Selah Productions. The band is more than entertainment — it's a collective force for consciousness, unity, and the preservation of roots culture in South Australia.
Musical DNA
The Influences
The legends who paved the way. The tradition Exodus Reggae honours and carries forward.
Bob Marley
The foundation. The prophet. The reason conscious reggae exists the way it does.
Peter Tosh
Uncompromising righteousness. No compromises, no softening. The militant voice.
Burning Spear
Consciousness as rhythm. Ancient and urgent at once. Marcus Garvey lives through his music.
Toots & the Maytals
The soul of ska and rocksteady — raw, joyful, alive. The people's music.
Alpha Blondy
Ivorian reggae. Proof the music belongs to the whole world, not just Jamaica.
Gregory Isaacs
The Cool Ruler. The voice that showed reggae could be tender and devastating.
